Boost Your Body with the Singing Canary


For those afternoon energy slumps, to help beat back inflammation, or help with autoimmune or adrenal issues, try this sunny and delish big boost!


It's called a Singing Canary by Trim Healthy Mama (THM). It's a yummy citrus and turmeric blend with a bit of MCT oil to activate the turmeric. I aim to drink a cup a day or more if I feel any sickness coming on.


Here's the THM recipe for your review. Admittedly the directions are a bit daunting to many, but I simplify mine as described below.


I always make a batch for the week, so scroll to the bottom of the THM recipe for the gallon recipe if interested in a larger batch. My versions below are made by the half-gallon batch.


To simplify and shorten the preparation of the singing canary in a way that works well for me in busy life, I usually do the first option below but may do the second option if I have organic lemons on hand from a sale. I'm really focused on the benefits from the turmeric for my autoimmune disease and adrenal issues, so option 1 suits just fine most of the time.


Option 1

In a half gallon jar, add these ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup lemon juice (fresh or preferably clean without preservatives or fillers)

  2. 2 cups water

  3. Couple generous pinches Himalayan Pink Salt

  4. 1 T collagen (I like the THM brand)

  5. 1 T Baobab powder (I like the THM brand)

  6. 1 T MCT oil (I like the THM brand)

  7. 1 T turmeric powder

  8. Vanilla extra (optional - I don’t use it)

  9. Stevia powder (optional - I don’t use it, but if you want some sweetness, I would add ¼ tsp or so to your taste)

Fill the rest of the jar up with water. Refrigerate. I drink about a cup of this a day so this batch will last me about a week.


If you want to receive the extra health benefits (bioflavonoids) that THM talks about being in the lemon pith, here’s another way that is simpler than the original recipe but a little longer than my adjustments above in option 1:


Option 2

In a powerful blender, add 2 cups of water or more as needed plus 4 organic lemons. Blend thoroughly. Use a wire mesh strainer and separate the lemon puree from the lemon water/juice. Discard or compost the puree parts. Add the following ingredients to the lemon water/juice and blend again:

  1. Couple generous pinches Himalayan Pink Salt

  2. 1 T collagen (I like the THM brand)

  3. 1 T Baobab powder (I like the THM brand)

  4. 1 T MCT oil (I like the THM brand)

  5. 1 T turmeric powder

  6. Vanilla extra (optional - I don’t use it)

  7. Stevia powder (optional - I don’t use it, but if you want some sweetness, I would add ¼ tsp or so to your taste)

Then pour into a half gallon jar. Add water if needed to fill to the top. Refrigerate and enjoy a cup or more per day.


The benefits are so mighty! If you don't like it at first, try again or try some modifications that suit you. That's how you will best stay on track with better eating habits. Make them work for you!
